Greetings DTH Girls!
Not a very long BLAST, but one with some GREAT achievements by our teams in their respective cup competitions, and the first BLAST in welcoming NEW teams to the Dallas Texans - Houston Girls!!!
To start off, I would like to formally welcome our 2 new U-11 teams, DTH 99 Mercury and DTH 99 Sphere. Mercury? Sphere? The names come from using popular NIKE product lines on the Women's side and putting them in conjunction with the DTH name! This is done at U-11 and U-12, and the team names would fall in as Mercury, Sphere, Velocity......We are excited to welcome these girls and are looking forward to a awesome 2009-2010 season with them. They will begin training tomorrow evening from 6:30-8, please be sure to say hello to any new faces you might see, and to those you already know. As always, if you know players who might have missed U11 tryouts, please tell them to get in touch with a member of the DTH staff.
A BIIIIIIG CONGRATS to our 92 Blue (red), 94 Blue (red) and 95 Blue (red) teams for advancing to the PRESIDENTS CUP EASTERN DISTRICT SEMI-FINALS!!! Each of these teams finished strongly in their respective groups, with the 92 and 94 teams finishing as runner-ups in their pool, and the 95 team collecting the #1 seed from their pool. All 3 teams are 1 game away from qualifying for the PRESIDENTS CUP STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS to be played May 23/24. GREAT JOB LADIES and BEST OF LUCK this weekend!
Our 93 Blue team is in a strong position with a chance to advance to STATE in Directors Cup with 2 pool matches left; best of luck ladies!
We have had some tremendous results over the past few weeks with all teams, and our younger teams commitment to player development is clearly beginning to show in all matches with our 97 and 98 teams. Each group is playing beautifully and displaying tremendous decision making skills on the field and individual technical ability in matches. We are very excited about the future as these young ladies continue to make great strides!
A couple of things to complete ASAP, and some dates to remember! Please go online NOW and register for tryouts at www.dallastexanshouston.com All players need to be registered and in the system in order for us to expedite the check in process and get them on the field quickly for their trial. Attached is the tryout flyer showing dates/times for the tryouts, and it is important that players make plans to attend both nights of their tryout. Additionally, May 30th will be our DTH-Girls Night at the Houston Dynamo Game. Team Managers, Treasurers and reps will be receiving a email soon with information on getting tickets for your players. All DTH-Girls will receive a FREE ticket to the match, and companion tickets are at a reduced rate! Please make plans to attend!
