Pursuit 87 Blue (Bandits) had a very successful weekend in Plano participating in The Texas Cup, one of the 3 major college showcase tournaments held in Texas each year.  With help from several Pursuit “guest players,” the Bandits successfully advanced to the quarterfinals in a field featuring many of the top teams in Texas and a number of other states.

 The girls surprised a strong Dallas Inter White team with an early goal and held on to win 1-0.  Game Two resulted in a 1-3 loss to Division 1 rival Westbury Stars.  Needing only a tie in Game 3 to advance, the Bandits knocked off the DFW Tejanos Blue with a goal with 10 seconds remaining for another 1-0 win.

 The weekend ended with a solid 0-3 loss to the very powerful Dallas Texans Red South team in the quarterfinals.

Our main goal was accomplished as some 20-25 college coaches sat on our sidelines and evaluated the girls.  Interest was expressed in several of the girls, and a few of the girls were able to perform in front of coaches they specifically invited.  We are hopeful that some additional college offers will follow.
